BUSES TO TIRASPOL AND BENDER
depart from the Central Bus station in Chisinau every 30-45
minutes. Cost of the ticket one way is about 2 USD. The trip to Tiraspol
takes 1 hour and a half stopping at the border after 1 hour of journey.
Warning about the
Cuciurgani border crossing
For those travelers who intend
to go to Odessa from Chisinau we recommend to avoid transiting Transdniestr.
The Transdniestrian customs officers will defenetly ask you for a stamp
of exit of Moldova (which you obviously can't have because there is no
customs between Moldova and Transdniestr and no one will even check your
passport on the Moldovan side) and won't be willing to hear any explanations
about the impossibility to get one. Go through Palanca instead. Or pay
an enourmouse bribes (it gets up to 150-200 Euro for some travelers) and
feel a fool at Cuciurgani (the Transdniestrian side).

REGISTRATION IN TIRASPOL should
be done in local OVIR office upon your arrival. OVIR is
situated in the downtown of Tiraspol on Kotovskiy street 2/A. They work
every day from 9 am till 5 pm, lunch time from 12 am till 1 pm, except
Saturdays and Sundays. The Police office
of the city is at Roza Luxemburg, 66 street.

No invitation letter or visa is required to enter Transdniestr / PMR
Foreign tourists visiting Transdniestr and staying one or more nights do need to register with local authorities within 24 hours after they enter the country. The registration to be done with OVIR office or local police in the town you are visiting.
